"Roel's art never fails to please the eye. It's colourful, pretty and gay, however hard-core the depicted image may be. Severed skinheads may fly, black metal axes may draw Beëlzebubian buckets of Christian blood, Smit-pictures always keep a friendly edge.
Not soft, but definitely with a "gezellig" (cozy) feel to it. This schizophrenic character clearly is Roel's intention, but, I sincerely believe, it also stems from the nobility that reigns his kind heart, a nobility that unfortunately is lacking in great parts of today's youth!"
